Brett Nicol - At Potarch - 23rd September 2009, The Gathering - 6th August 2017, The Gathering II - 5th August 2018 & at Potarch 19th January 2019. These are some of Brett's recorded lifts at events but every time someone comes to take on the Dinnies Brett is there to referee and assist and will do a number of demo lifts. His current tally as of 7/8/23 is 499!!

As a local resident Brett has now performed 499 unassisted lifts over the years since his first lift in 2009. He attends every attempt along with Jim & Rosemary Splaine to assist and referee. Brett also has his own replicas of the Dinnie stones named the Nicol Stones weighing around 800lbs which are available for lifting by anyone who wants to have a go. His Nicol walking stones are now a feature of the Giants Live strongman shows and will appear in Scotland's Strongest Man. They also appear in the Guinness Book of World records!

Brett has performed a successful lift at every Gathering agreed by the guest referees including Jim Splaine, Dr Jan Todd, Tony Aitchison, Imlach Shearer, Jack Shanks, Steve Stainless Murray and Travis Willingham who had also travelled from the USA. On the 19th January 2019 Brett performed 9 successful unassisted lifts of the stones!
